Develop dialogue between the private sector and civil society
Turkey
C@rma’s mission is to develop dialogue between the private sector and civil society by inspiring and mobilising professionals to use their expertise towards supporting Turkish social organisations.
Since 2014, we have supported more than 75 Turkish CSOs, from small to large scale, and we have developed around 70 projects with these, ranging from strategy to communication, legal etc – altogether mobilising around 200 professionals during this process. Although C@rma is an incorporated Turkish company, we have no staff and are all currently volunteers.
We have a threefold approach:
Diagnostics: We run a diagnostic of the NGO, discussing their long term strategy, communication, marketing, IT, governance, stakeholders relations, volunteer management, etc. Identifying strengths and weaknesses, then preparing a list of short term and long term projects
Project resolutions are solved in three different ways:
For short term technical projects such as graphic design or office training – our website matches volunteers with the required skills.
How-to brainstorming questions are handled during a three hour session where experts on the topics are gathered.
Longer projects such as strategy and marketing are offered to companies as a four month project for ten of their staff.
Dialogue and inspiration
We organize different events to bring communities together including events for individual professionals (Pro Bono Drinks) and events for senior representatives of firms (Corporate Breakfast).
Pro Bono Week takes place every year in October and celebrates the pro bono ethic of the thousands of professionals who volunteer their skills and professional expertise to support nonprofits all around the world.
