Youvo is an online volunteering platform for students and professionals that have design, communications and digital skills to connect with NPOs seeking assistance towards increasing the impact of social projects.
Developed in 2012 by six Berlin University of the Arts students, Youvo’s long-term vision is to provide an interface between both the creative and digital industries, and the social sector within DACH Region countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). It is also to promote ‘skills based volunteering’ as a new form of voluntary work.
Youvo’s volunteering platform has since grown to involve over 4300 volunteers and 395 NPOs, managing approximately 480 projects.
As a GPBN member, Youvo is generally interested in the possibilities of further developing its learning about the global pro bono movement, and collaboration with other intermediaries towards raising social awareness and increasing engagement.
Pro Bono Week takes place every year in October and celebrates the pro bono ethic of the thousands of professionals who volunteer their skills and professional expertise to support nonprofits all around the world.
